Imagine walking into a museum or art gallery. Your eyes pan for a few seconds and then you see it – the painting that grabs you. The one whose abstract design draws you to it. When you get closer you see the beauty of the detail, brushwork and nuances.

As you get closer to my work, seek the qualities that help make each painting one of a kind. Throughout my online Gallery, you have the opportunity to “zoom in” on my paintings. You’ll discover that, “Every brushstroke has a purpose.” That sentiment is a gem from one of my favorite instructors, George Strickland.

Everyone is taught the fundamentals of how to create the letters of the alphabet, yet no one has the same handwriting. Handwriting reflects the personality of an individual. Given the same subject, no painting is the same because the personality of the artist is reflected in it. With each piece of art, there is left a piece of the artist. My paintings reflect who I am, an optimistic and joyful person. It is expressed through the choices I make. I am a traditional realist, using an impressionistic color palette. My technique is both direct and indirect, which creates a gem like quality of depth and richness of color. This signature style has developed as I have grown as a person and an artist.
